Department: Maintenance
DescriptionThe Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) is seeking a high energy, detail oriented team player to provide clerical support services to the Maintenance department staff. This position will be responsible for day-to-day clerical and administrative functions that include data entry, proofreading, developing departmental reports, processing invoices, meeting preparation, implementing special projects, maintaining personnel database, files and attendance records, ordering and processing departmental purchases and supplies.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. AA degree or two years of college is preferred. Three years administrative/clerical office work experience with direct training and experience in office practices and procedures is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be used. This position also requires a strong knowledge of grammar, file maintenance, modern office equipment, practices and procedures. Must have strong and accurate data entry skills and the ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work. Typing: 50 WPM. Must have advance knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook plus the ability to interact positively with a diverse population which includes strong verbal, writing, and customer service skills.
CompensationStarting salary mid $30s + excellent benefit package that includes health, dental, retirement, deferred compensation and vacation.
