Qualifications

The KCATA is currently seeking customer oriented candidates who have a HS diploma/GED and at least 2 years of stable work history. Must have a valid Driver’s License, and an excellent driving record, which includes no more than 2 points within the past 5 years.  Must be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Drivers’ License with Passenger/Airbrake Endorsements, and pass the required drug screen/pre-employment physical exam to receive DOT certificate. Must be at least 21 years of age and capable of learning how to operate a passenger vehicle.  Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are mandatory. This position requires prospective Operators to be available for a 6-week paid training course. The training schedule is non-negotiable.

 

Compensation

Hourly pay rate of $14.49 per hour during training.

Custodian

This position requires a HS/GED and a minimum of 1 year custodial experience which must including stripping and waxing floors, shampooing carpets, general office cleaning and ground care. Information Systems Analyst

Description

KCATA is seeking an Information Systems Analyst for the maintenance, support, training, and report writing for its key HR, Financial, and Procurement systems.  This includes recommendation, implementation, support, training, configuration, customization, etc. of business systems and related technologies supporting the HR, Finance, and Procurement functions.  The HR/Finance Information Systems Analyst works closely with the I.T. Director and the Authority’s executive team to ensure that the technology needs of each department’s systems are being met.  The position will provide system administration, configuration, second level technical support, custom reporting, end user training, and vendor management for all software applications.  

 

Qualifications

1)  At least 5 years of programming, analysis, and/or support experience in Information Technology.  Including end user support experience, hands-on technical experience, and demonstrated ability to communicate with users at all levels; and 2) Hands-on experience working with and supporting corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, with emphasis in HR, Finance, Procurement, and Payroll.  Experience with Lawson/Infor’s Financial Management, Human Capital Management, and Supply Chain Management preferred

Asset Management Coordinator

The KCATA is looking for an Asset Management Coordinator to coordinate its Asset Management program which includes providing support to the Finance, Information Technology, Project Management and Maintenance Departments as they implement an asset management program to assure compliance with federal requirements and agency policies.  

 

 

Qualifications

 This is a two-year contract position and requires an undergraduate degree in a business administration, finance, economics, computer science, or accounting and at least three years’ experience in asset management, financial analysis, accounting, or auditing.   A master’s degree is preferred and exp. with asset management projects funded through the U.S. Department of Transportation or projects involving public transit will be given preference.

Labor Relations Specialist

The KCATA is seeking a Labor Relations Specialist for the planning, directing, and coordination of all labor relations activities of the Authority which includes grievance handling; arbitration preparation and/or handling; management/labor relations training; collective bargain negotiations; analyzing, interpreting, drafting, and implementing the collective bargaining agreement and memorandums of understanding; and advising management and union officials in the development, application, and interpretation of labor relations policies, practices and laws.  The Labor Relations Manager will serve as the Chief Executive Officer’s designated lead representative during third step grievances and arbitration hearings.

 

Qualifications

The Labor Relations Specialist must have at minimum a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, Employment Law or a closely related field plus 3 years’ direct experience in union contract negotiations, processing grievances and arbitration cases.  Specific training or credentials in labor negotiations/relations is preferred.  Must have experience applying a variety of labor relation concepts, practices, and procedures. The successful candidate must have multifaceted skills and be equipped to work with all levels of management as well as with the Authority’s hourly union workforce in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.  Experience in transportation preferred but not required.

The VP of Organizational Development and Technology is responsible for providing the direction, design and review of organizational policies, procedures and metrics that improve internal systems procedures, and processes impacting the long and short-term goals, culture, and over-all efficiency within the organization. The Vice-President of Organizational Development Technology is responsible for providing the direction to the Human Resources, Information Technology, Labor Relations, and Legal work units.

 

Qualifications

The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree (preferred), from an accredited university or college with major course work in organizational/leadership development, human resources, management, technology administration, organizational psychology or transit administration plus at least three years’ executive level management experience.  This position requires an individual with a thorough knowledge of the theories, concepts and practices of organizational development and human resource management;  knowledge of the methods and procedures used in developing and implementing organizational effectiveness and leadership development programs; strong strategic thinking skills with highly developed business acumen related to transit services; and skill in dealing effectively with both individuals and groups of individuals at a full range of levels on a variety of work related issues and influencing organizational change.

Senior Planning Manager

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) is seeking a Senior Planning Manager to oversee the region’s transit planning and special services activities. The Senior Manager is responsible for managing ATA’s planning staff,  directing service planning activities, overseeing short-range transit planning, and providing strategic planning and operational guidance for regional transit planning and corridor studies throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.   The Senior Planning Manager serves as liaison between the Authority and local governments, other transit providers, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (Mid-America Regional Council), various civic groups and the public.   

 

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university plus three years’ work experience in urban transportation or transit planning and previous supervisory and managerial experience.  An advanced degree in transportation planning or related field is preferred.
