KCATA Commissioner Dusek Passes Away

Posted on: Jan 20, 2015

It is with heavy hearts that the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority mourns the death of Andrew (A.J.) Dusek, representing Wyandotte County, Ks., on the KCATA board. Mr. Dusek passed away suddenly on Jan. 14, 2015.

"A.J. was not only a personal friend, but a true friend of transit throughout the region,” said Robbie Makinen, chair of the KCATA Board of Commissioners. “In his ten years on the board, he was a consistent voice for those who had no voice, especially paratransit customers. He understood what public transportation meant to a community and to the individuals who use transit."

A.J. Dusek served previously as Secretary of the Board.
