Celebration at the Station Service, Reroutes
MAX Offers Extra Service For Celebration At The Station On Sunday; 27-27th Street, 47-Broadway, 51-Ward Parkway and 123-23rd Street Reroute
The annual Celebration at the Station will be held at Union Station on Sunday, May 26. The FREE outdoor concert featuring the Kansas City Symphony starts at 8 p.m. between Union Station and Liberty Memorial. The fireworks display begins after the concert.
From 5 p.m. until the start of the concert, Main St. MAX will increase its service, operating every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes between the Waldo Park-and-Ride and the 3rd & Grand Park-and-Ride. The first additional southbound MAX bus from 3rd & Grand will begin at 5:54 p.m. After the fireworks display, MAX buses will be waiting to serve concertgoers on the return trip. Regular Metro fares apply.
Please note that due to the Jiggle Jam at Crown Center, Main St. MAX will not serve Crown Center and will remain on Main St. between the Union Station and Liberty Memorial stations.
27-27th Street, 47-Broadway, 51-Ward Parkway and 123-23rd Street Reroute
From 6 p.m. on Friday, May 24, until the end of the event, 27, 47, 51 and 123 will reroute.
27-27th Street and 123-23rd Street: Eastbound buses will travel the regular route to Pershing & West Pennway, continue north on West Pennway, northeast on Southwest Blvd., east on 20th St., south on Main, and east on Pershing to resume the regular route. Westbound buses will travel the regular route to Pershing & Main, north on Main, west on 20th St., southwest on Southwest Blvd., south on Broadway/West Pennway, and west on 25th St. to resume the regular route.
47-Broadway and 51-Ward Parkway: Northbound buses will travel the regular route to Pershing & West Pennway, continue north on West Pennway, northeast on Southwest Blvd., east on 20th St., and north on Main to resume the regular route. Southbound buses will travel the regular route to 20th & Main, go west on 20th St., southwest on Southwest Blvd., and south on Broadway/West Pennway to resume the regular route.
