Your safety is our utmost concern especially when you’re traveling by bus at night. The Metro’s Night Stop service simply allows you to exit the bus along the route and in between regular designated bus stops. In addition, you can exit the bus using the front door.
Night Stop service is available between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. everywhere in The Metro’s service area, except downtown *Kansas City and on **MAX trips north of The Plaza.
Using the service is easy. Just ask the Metro operator to let you off at a safe location along the regular route. The location may be well-lit or closer to your destination. Either way, it does not have to be a Metro bus stop. About a block before it’s time to exit the bus, move to the front so that the operator can safely prepare to stop. The operator will then let you off at the front door.
*Because of greater police presence and frequent stops downtown, Night Stop service is not offered.
**Night Stop service is provided on Main MAX Orange Line trips south of The Plaza and on Troost MAX Green Line trips south of 75th Street.
