Visiting Kansas City

Getting around Kansas City is easy on the MAX and The Metro. Enjoy your visit to Kansas City and leave the driving to us.

How to ride.

Check out our video series for a quick primer on how to ride The Metro, from planning your trip to catching a bus.

How to pay.

There are plenty of options to pay your fare. A Three-Day Visitor's Pass is available in advance from our online store. If you are already in town you can purchase a Day Pass, good until midnight, for $3 on board the bus. Regular cash fare is $1.50 per ride, and you can request a transfer that is good for two hours. You can also use a Change Card to get around. Request a Change Card when you deposit $5, $10 or $20 in the farebox, and you'll have stored Metro fare for several more trips.

Plan a trip.

You can plan a trip with Google Transit or The Metro's Trip Planner. Or, call 816-221-0660 from 6 a.m to 7 p.m. on weekdays to speak with a Call Center agent. Language translation service is available.
