Transport passengers while providing exceptional transportation and customer service to the public.

Qualifications

The KCATA is currently seeking enthusiastic candidates with strong customer service skills and the ability to work with a diverse customer base to train as bus operators.  Candidates will be considered who have a HS diploma or GED and at least 3 years of stable work history and a good attendance record. Must have a valid Driver’s License, with an excellent driving record, which includes no more than 2 points within the past 5 years.  Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger/Airbrake Endorsements, and pass the required drug screen/pre-employment physical exam to receive DOT certificate. Must be at least 21 years of age and capable of learning how to operate a passenger vehicle.  Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are mandatory.

This position requires trainees to be available for a 6-week paid training course that will begin November 26, 2012. The training schedule is non-negotiable.

Compensation

Pay is $12.96/hour during training.
Effective January 6, 2013, the starting pay will be $14.49.
