The KCATA is currently seeking customer oriented candidates who have a HS diploma/GED and at least 2 years of stable work history. Must have a valid Driver’s License, and an excellent driving record, which includes no more than 2 points within the past 5 years. Must be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Drivers’ License with Passenger/Airbrake Endorsements, and pass the required drug screen/pre-employment physical exam to receive DOT certificate. Must be at least 21 years of age and capable of learning how to operate a passenger vehicle. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are mandatory. This position requires prospective Operators to be available for a 6-week paid training course. The training schedule is non-negotiable.
Hourly pay rate of $14.49 per hour during training.

Human Resources Generalist

The KCATA is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to perform Human Resources related duties on a professional level, while working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to support human capital operational dynamics involving the agency. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, on-boarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance. Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in human resources, public/business administration or related field from an accredited four-year college and/or university. In addition, a minimum of three (3) years of human resources experience is required (preferably in a public sector environment). Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification is also preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The Human Resources Generalist must have previous experience in a role focused on recruitment, employee engagement, benefits, performance management, new employee orientation, and training and employee development; actual experiences spearheading directives that support organization goals and objectives; possess a willingness to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented and professional work setting that values standards of excellence; must have excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills and must be a highly motivated professional.
The projected salary range begins at $50,012.00 or compensate negotiable commensurate with professional experience and skill level.

The KCATA is seeking a “Senior Buyer” to ensure competitive economical purchases by maintaining strong relationships with Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) staff and vendors as a member of the organization’s Procurement Division. The Senior Buyer’s responsibilities will entail an all-encompassing range of tasks from conception to project closeout in respect to procurement services.
Procurement activities will include an array of procurement related services including the purchase of materials, equipment and supplies.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited four year college and/or university. The Senior Buyer must have a minimum of three years’ experience in the procurement and/or related area with a successful record of growth and increased responsibilities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The Senior Buyer must have general knowledge of purchasing methods, systems and controls. The Senior Buyer must be able maintain contracts and procurement files related to Buyer’s procurements. The Senior Buyer must have excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills. The Senior Buyer must be computer literate including knowledge of Mircosoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Experience with federal governmental procurement procedures a plus.

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) – “The Metro” is seeking a “Call Center” customer service professional to serve as a Transportation Coordinator. The Transportation Coordinator will coordinate, organize and record trip reservations for Para-transit participants enrolling in our “Share-A-Fare (SAF) Program. The Transportation Coordinator is expected to respond to telephone inquiries from the general public and SAF participantsenrolled in the program, activate will call trips using KCATA’s reservation software and respond to social service agencies inquiries concerning transportation arrangements.
Minimum Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED/HiSET is required. Also, the successful candidate must have a valid Driver's License.
The candidate must pass each of the following components and/or competencies of the Transportation Coordinator Test as follows: Customer Service - 80%; Coding - 75%; Typing – 35 WPM; Landmark Map - 80%; Checking – 75%; Vocabulary – 75% and Map Test – 75%.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The Transportation Coordinator must exhibit the following aptitude, competencies and proficiencies:
1) The ability to accurately place reservations using the company’s reservation software program, identify and resolve customer inquiries in a timely, efficient and customer oriented manner;
2) To be competent, reasonable and capable of displaying good judgment in handling problem situations, emotional customers and complaints;
3 To skillfully gather and accurately analyze information;
4) To be experienced in developing and presenting alternative solutions to customers using reason and logic;
5) Must exhibit the ability to work efficiently in a team environment;and
6) Requires a consistent ability to positively manage difficult situations.
