KCATA Welcomes Transit Board Members and Administrators to Annual Seminar in KC

Kansas City, Mo. (July 16, 2025) -  The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) welcomes 150 transit board members and administrators from the U.S. and Canada to Kansas City July 19-22, 2025, for an annual seminar hosted by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA).

Transit board members and board administrators come together for peer exchange and professional development on board governance and policymaking for public transportation agencies. Transit Board Members Seminar topics include national and regional transit advocacy, funding and financing, safety and security, procurement practices, and building constructive Board relations. The Transit Board Administrators Seminar will cover topics such as transit board member onboarding, good practices in board management and building resiliency as an administrator. 

Featured speakers include U.S. Representatives Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) and Sharice Davids (D-KS). From Kansas City attendees will hear from Reinhard Mabry, CEO of Alphapointe, Bethanie Wolverton with CBIZ, Inc., and from KCATA, Board Chair Reginald Townsend, CEO Frank White, III, TOD Director Michael Riley and Executive Assistant Janet Leverich.
