THE METRO JOINS PINTEREST TO SHARE IDEAS, ACHIEVEMENTS, INSPIRATION
(Kansas City, Mo. – March 28, 2012) The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) has joined the social media website Pinterest to share stories, inspirations, tips and news. You can find The Metro at http://www.pinterest.com/kcatametro.
“Pinterest offers a way for us to share the story of transit in Kansas City and ideas about how to enjoy The Metro lifestyle,” said Marketing Supervisor Bridget Moss.
Pinterest is a virtual pinboard that lets users organize and share interesting things, from craft projects to humorous pictures to vacation destinations. The website is one of the fastest growing social media sites, with more than 20 million users.
“We hope to inspire people to get the most out of their commute on The Metro and MAX. Pinterest is another way for us to celebrate our customers and to promote all that Kansas City has to offer,” Moss said.
KCATA’s boards include Favorite Places, Riders, Arts + Transit, Fashion, Transit History, Humor, and Celebrities on Transit. The agency’s pinboards can be found at http://www.pinterest.com/kcatametro/. KCATA is one of the first transit agencies nationwide to join Pinterest. Pinterest complements the agency’s other online outreach and communication, which includes its website (http://www.kcata.org), Google Transit trip planner, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
