(Kansas City, Mo. – November 17, 2008) The cost for Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit bus riders to commute to downtown Kansas City will rise after the first of the year. The Board of Commissioners of the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) approved the new fares at their recent meeting.

Effective January 1, 2009, the one-way fare for #170-Blue Springs Express and #152-Lee’s Summit/Raytown Express will be $3.  Monthly passes will increase to $95.

The fare increases are in response to rising costs of operating Metro service. The increases are determined by the cities of Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit and the KCATA.
